Nighttime 50-cal machine gun qualifications

We spent all day and most of the night shooting machine guns, fortunately it wasn't too cold.

how many Navy men does it take to fill up a humvee?

How about 5?
One to drive
One to fill'er up
Three to do nothing

PS: common sense and the Navy mix well they do not!

shooting the Mk19

a grenade launcher, an impractical weapon really as its uses are fairly limited.

between Kansas City and Baltimore

a few pictures from my flight to Baltimore...

Exiting a flipped over hummer...

in video!

hummer training

This past Saturday we learned how to perform basic maintenance on a hummer, replace a tire, tow another hummer and egress from a flipped over hummer. Today we learned how to drive a hummer through mud and creeks, uphill and downhill. And tonight we will drive hummers in total darkness with night vision goggles on!

waiting to leave for Kansas

A few pictures as I waited for my flight, Terminal A at Washington Reagan National Airport is a definite throwback to the '60s, not that I was there at the time but I can imagine!

flying back to DC

After spending 2 weeks in South Florida it was time to head back to DC to catch my flight back to Kansas the next day. One thing I have learned is that the airline industry in the US will get you to your destination most times, when they do so is up to them. The schedules are mere suggestions!
