As I sit around with very little to do (and I do mean very little),
what better way to spend time than by taking pictures. While camp
phoenix is not particularly photo material, the surrounding mountains
are. Afghanistan makes Colorado look more like Kansas in comparison,
these mountains are huge.
Otherwise, it still appears as though we are leaving for Herat on
Sunday, and it seems we will be flying with the Spanish or Italian
air force. It should be entertaining.

NO SLOT MACHINES OR AT LEAST ONE MILITARY BAR. I also felt like a inmate in the tents close to the Saigon Airport but we had slots and one Bar. We were protected from the locals by 10 foot barb wire. Every night we had to clean the sand and dirt from our bunks before going to sleep. What happened to the good old days of Vietnam when we knew who the enemy was. Obama save us.
